Beach profiles are elevation - distance measurements performed across the beach; they are collected using a surveying instrument called a total station.  They provide accurate elevations and distances to 1 inch or better.  These data are often used to study the beach's evolution or for planning and monitoring beach renourishments.  Metadata has been created for Beach Profiles

Core data are available both onshore and offshore in coastal Mississippi.  Core data consists of vibracore and rotary core sources; individual core logs have been scanned for download.  Core logs include geologic, sediment, and micro-paleo logs. Metadata has been created for each type of core log.
